"Every small business deserves smart, simple, and byte-sized tech help"

--Derek Peterson, 2025.

About Me

Hi, I’m Derek Peterson—tech consultant, lifelong learner, and proud small business owner.  By day, I work full-time in the tech world—but on the side, I run ByteSized Help, where I empower entrepreneurs and self-starters to tackle tech challenges with clarity and confidence. I’m fueled by curiosity, driven by creativity, and always on the lookout for smarter, simpler ways to make technology work for people. When I’m not deep in problem-solving mode, you’ll find me biking around town, gaming on my Xbox, hanging with my dog Piper, or enjoying life with the friends who keep me grounded. I believe in showing up with heart, growing a little every day, and helping others do the same.

The Problem Solver

When small businesses hit a tech roadblock, I’m the one they call. With years of experience in tech consulting and a knack for simplifying the complex, I created ByteSized Help to bridge the gap between big ideas and small business resources. Whether it's untangling a tech issue, streamlining workflows, or guiding digital growth, I bring practical solutions that actually make a difference—without the jargon or the stress.

The Curious Creator

I’ve always been wired to explore—tinkering, learning, building, and asking “what if?” at every turn. That curiosity is baked into everything I do. It fuels my approach to problem-solving, keeps me sharp on the latest tech trends, and inspires me to think beyond the obvious. For me, creativity isn’t a hobby—it’s a mindset that turns challenges into opportunities and ideas into action.

The Human Behind the Hustle

Behind the screen, I'm just a guy who loves a good bike ride, late-night Xbox sessions, and spending quality time with the people (and pup) who matter most. My dog Piper keeps me grounded, reminding me to enjoy the simple things—like a walk, a wag, or a well-earned nap. Whether I’m out chasing hills or catching up with good friends, I’m always chasing one thing: progress. I’m also a proud gay man, believing deeply in living authentically and lifting others up along the way. I strive to show up better today than I did yesterday, and level up again tomorrow—because growth isn’t just for business, it’s personal.
